Answer: I was put on this planet to answer this question. I started a website in March that’s geared towards providing trustworthy debt information, facts, tips you name it. It covers the good the bad and the ugly about debt relief solutions.

I know what you’re thinking, and no I’m not promoting or selling anything nor do I provide services of any kind. It’s simply an informational tool for people like you. I actually started it out of a frustration similar to yours. The only difference being is that I was trying to find out about debt relief programs because I had just started to working in the industry. I spent countless hours trying to learn about these programs and every website that showed up at the top of my search results was chalked full of misleading marketing information disguised as debt relief information. It’s really sad because people are constantly being led to believe that they’ve chosen the right program or that they have that they have found the information they were looking for when in reality they haven’t. For example, if a certain company only offers one program let’s say for instance a Debt settlement program (an aggressive debt help program) they are not going to tell you that you would be better off going with a debt management program (less aggressive). In fact I’ve found that a lot of the “Debt Counselors” selling these services don’t even know what the other available options are or how they work. And those that do usually have no clue what they’re talking about because they got their information from the guy in the cubicle next to them that read it on a site that was misleading. I hope by now you have an idea about how strongly I feel about this and trust that my website DebtSkinny.com which was originally created for my personal clients has the honest information you are looking for.

Now, there are plenty of honest debt relief companies out there and the debt relief programs they offer do work very well when applied to the right situation. Problems start to arise when trying to sort out the good companies from the bad ones. Every company you deal with is going to give you a reason on why the program they offer is right for you. Your best bet is to do as much research as you can on your own and find out what works best for you. Knowledge is power and a few hours of research now will save you a lot of time and money down the road. Let face it, no one knows your situation better than you.
